The European Commission and Mercator Ocean, the French centre for analysis and forecasting of the global ocean, have signed an Agreement to implement and manage the Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service.
The overall objective of the Workshop is to review the scientific and technical progresses achieved with the DRAKKAR hierarchy of model configurations based on the NEMO platform, identify strengths and weaknesses of these models, and discuss key model improvements and new developments that are needed for the future.

MyOcean Follow-On is the third and last milestone before the deployement of the future Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service in the course of 2015.

The latest MyOcean2 training workshop was organised by and took place at the UK Met Office on 2-4 July 2014 and focused on Operational Oceanography in the North European Seas (including North West Shelf, Iberian Sea, Bay of Biscay, Irish Sea and Baltic). Picture credit : MyOcean2
